The winner of the Champions League 2nd qualifying round tie between Dinamo and Thun will face the victor from the match between KI Klaksvik from the Faroe Islands and Lithuanian Kauno Žalgiris in the next round. This was determined by the draw held on Monday in Nyon. The first leg is scheduled for August 4th or 5th in Zagreb, with the return leg on August 11th.
The loser of the Croatian and Swiss champions' clash will continue their European season in the 3rd qualifying round of the Europa League. There they will face the losing side from the tie between Icelandic Vikingur and Israeli Hapoel Beer Sheva.
Kauno Žalgiris are the current champions of Lithuania, whose championship runs through the calendar year. In the new season, after 20 rounds played, they once again find themselves at the top of the table. The team is managed from the bench by former Dinamo coach Željko Sopić. KI Klaksvik are champions of the Faroe Islands, where the championship also runs through the calendar year, and at this moment, after 16 rounds, they sit in second place.
