Brilliant Livaković in his 307th appearance paved the way to victory, Bakrar scored for another three points
Gorica – Dinamo 1:2
Inspired and in excellent form, Dominik Livaković in his 307th official appearance for Dinamo led his team to another victory. In the final ten minutes, he made two magnificent saves to protect his goal, preventing the hosts from taking the lead, and thus opened the door for another match hero - his teammate Mounsef Bakrar, scorer of Dinamo's winning goal in the 90th minute. In the 33rd round of SuperSport HNL, Dinamo defeated Gorica away 2:1.
With this match, Dinamo also reached 87 goals scored in the current season, surpassing their best record in the "10-team league". The previous record was from the 2014/15 season when the Blues scored 85 goals, they came close in 2020/21 with 84 and in 2013/14 when they found the net 83 times...
The Blues have also connected 20 league matches with 17 wins and three draws. In that same period, Dinamo also added three victories in cup matches, meaning that in 23 consecutive domestic competition matches they achieved 20 wins and three draws.
Dion Drena Beljo broke his streak of consecutive matches in which he scored. This afternoon he didn't find the net, ending a run that lasted eight consecutive matches - seven in the league and one in the Cup.
Livaković this Saturday became the fourth player by number of appearances in club history. Including the match against Gorica, he has played a total of 307 matches, equaling Marko Mlinarić in fourth place. Above them are Dražen Ladić with 468, Arijan Ademi with 430 and Mladen Ramljak with 337 matches.
Dinamo found the net in the 5th minute, captain Josip Mišić sent the ball to the left wing where, naturally, Arbër Hoxha was positioned, who then entered the penalty area, skillfully earned a shooting position and from 15 meters with his right foot hit the far corner.
The lead lasted only seven minutes, as the hosts equalized in an action following a corner kick. In the scramble in Dinamo's penalty area, Ante Kavelj, with his back to goal, somehow managed to direct the ball with his foot over his head towards goal, where Jurica Pršir got to it while falling. Maksimir goalkeeper Livaković cleared the ball with his hands, but it had already crossed the goal line.
Moreover, the hosts had a chance for another goal in the 24th minute, Kavelj struck a volley from about ten meters, the ball grazed Mounsef Bakrar and flew just over the crossbar.
Livaković prevented seemingly certain goals by the hosts twice in the final ten minutes.
Luka Vrzić in the 83rd minute ran in from the right, broke clear one-on-one from seven meters and shot powerfully, but Livaković saved what looked like a certain goal. It was similar six minutes later when he stopped Domagoj Pavičić's attempt, also in a one-on-one situation. The Maksimir goalkeeper deflected the ball, Theo Epailly ran onto it and shot over the goal.
On such a platform, Dinamo spread their wings further and launched an aggressive hunt for victory, which they achieved in the 90th minute. Bakrar led the attack through the middle, slightly from the right, and from 20 meters hit the far bottom corner.
However, the victory had to be "sealed" by Livaković with another brilliant reaction in stoppage time, as home defender Jakov Filipović shot powerfully under the crossbar, but the Maksimir goalkeeper once again prevented a goal.
During the first half, Dinamo fans in the east stand paid tribute to the unforgettable former Dinamo goalkeeper Ivan Turina. This Saturday marked exactly 13 years since Turina left us forever. On that tragic May 2nd, 2013, he passed away in his sleep at the age of 33. From the stands of the stadium in Velika Gorica echoed: "Turina Ivan!"
