Brilliant Livaković in his 307th appearance paved the way to victory, Bakrar scored for three new points
Gorica – Dinamo 1:2
Brilliant and inspired Dominik Livaković in his 307th official appearance for Dinamo led his team to another victory. In the final ten minutes, he made two magnificent saves to keep his goal intact, preventing the hosts from taking the lead, and thus opened the door for another match hero - his teammate Mounsef Bakrar, who scored Dinamo's winning goal in the 90th minute. In the 33rd round of SuperSport HNL, Dinamo defeated Gorica away 2:1.
Dinamo also reached 87 goals scored in the current season with this match, surpassing their best record in the "10-team league". The previous record was from the 2014/15 season when the Blues scored 85 goals, they came close in 2020/21 with 84 and in 2013/14 when they found the net 83 times...
The Blues have now gone 20 league matches with 17 wins and three draws. In that same period, Dinamo also added three victories in cup matches, meaning they have achieved 20 wins and three draws in 23 consecutive domestic competition matches.
Dion Drena Beljo broke his streak of consecutive matches in which he scored. This afternoon he failed to find the net, ending a run that lasted eight consecutive matches - seven in the league and one in the Cup.
Livaković became the fourth player by number of appearances in club history this Saturday. Including the match against Gorica, he has played a total of 307 matches, equaling Marko Mlinarić in fourth place. Above them are Dražen Ladić with 468, Arijan Ademi with 430, and Mladen Ramljak with 337 matches.
Dinamo opened the scoring in the 5th minute when captain Josip Mišić sent the ball to the left wing where Arbër Hoxha was positioned, who then entered the penalty area, skillfully worked his way into a shooting position and from 15 meters with his right foot hit the far corner.
The lead lasted only seven minutes as the hosts equalized in an action following a corner kick. In the scramble in Dinamo's penalty area, Ante Kavelj, with his back to goal, somehow managed to direct the ball with his foot over his head towards the goal, where Jurica Pršir got to it while falling. Maksimir goalkeeper Livaković pushed the ball out with his hands, but it had already crossed the goal line.
Moreover, the hosts had a chance for another goal in the 24th minute when Kavelj struck a volley from about ten meters, the ball grazed Mounsef Bakrar and flew just over the crossbar.
Livaković twice prevented seemingly certain goals by the hosts in the final ten minutes.
Luka Vrzić ran in from the right in the 83rd minute, broke through alone at seven meters and shot powerfully, but Livaković saved what seemed like a certain goal. It was similar six minutes later when he stopped an attempt by Domagoj Pavičić, also in a one-on-one situation. The Maksimir goalkeeper deflected the ball, Theo Epailly ran onto it and shot over the goal.
On such a platform, Dinamo spread their wings further and began an eager hunt for victory, which they achieved in an action in the 90th minute. Bakrar led the attack through the middle, slightly from the right, and from 20 meters hit the far bottom corner.
However, the victory had to be "confirmed" by Livaković with another brilliant reaction in stoppage time - again Vrzić shot powerfully towards the crossbar, and the Maksimir goalkeeper once again prevented a goal.
During the first half, Dinamo fans in the east stand paid tribute to the unforgettable former Dinamo goalkeeper Ivan Turina. We marked exactly 13 years this Saturday since Turina left us forever. On that fateful May 2, 2013, he passed away in his sleep at the age of 33. From the stands of the stadium in Velika Gorica echoed: "Turina Ivan!"
