Thunderous applause echoed from the west stand of Maksimir Stadium as Zagreb fans rewarded the finalists in this manner, rounding off the magnificent 23rd edition of the Mladen Ramljak International Junior Memorial Tournament. In the final match, Ajax defeated Dinamo 2-1 in an entertaining game full of attractive runs, delightful moves and spectacular goals. This was Ajax's first appearance at the Ramljak Tournament and they crowned their debut by winning the trophy, breaking Dinamo's streak of two consecutive titles.

Third place went to Hajduk who defeated Benfica on penalties in Sunday's morning fixture after the match ended 1-1 after 80 minutes of play.

In the group stage competition from Friday to Sunday, spectators had the opportunity to see as many as 51 goals, which averages more than four goals per match! The final day was marked in a similar tone with the final and three playoff matches for placement, with 14 goals scored in four matches. The statistics alone reveal how much excitement and entertainment this year's edition of this prestigious international tournament offered.

After the final match ended, a solemn ceremony and award presentation followed. Dinamo's honorary president Velimir Zajec and Dražen Ramljak, brother of the famous Maksimir defender Mladen Ramljak after whom the tournament is named, together presented medals to the winners, Ajax players and coaching staff. The trophy was received by the young centre-back, who was also the scorer of the second goal in Sunday's final, Kenny Kasanwirjo.

The award to Dinamo for second place was presented by the celebrated Maksimir number ten Marko Mlinarić, while the award to Hajduk for their third place finish was presented by Jerko Leko, coach of Dinamo's B team, in the morning hours immediately after the third-place match.

Individual awards were also presented. The tournament's best player was Ajax left winger Nafairon Landvreugd, with the award presented by Albert Capellas, director of Dinamo's academy. The competition's top scorer was Dinamo's number nine, Roko Ban, with four goals scored, and the award was presented by former blue number nine Goran Vlaović, assistant director of the Academy.

Dinamo defender Nikola Radnić received the "Ismet Hadžić" award for the tournament's best defensive player. The award was presented by former Dinamo number seven Etto.

Ivan Kelava, current member of Dinamo's first team coaching staff, was named best goalkeeper of the Ramljak Tournament in 2006 during his teenage years, and this Sunday, as last year, he presented the plaque to the tournament's best goalkeeper. This year's winner was Benfica goalkeeper Filippo Gaidao.

Zorislav Srebrić, senior advisor to the president of the Croatian Football Federation, presented the fair-play award to Brugge's representative, while Stjepan Merkaš, also a HNS delegate, presented recognition to the referees of this year's tournament.
