What do the jury members think about the fourth kit?

We asked those who selected the top 32

As you know, just a few days ago, you, our dear supporters, chose the new official fourth kit through Dinamo's app. Among 858 proposals, you liked the "History" kit by Luka Lončarek the most.

As a reminder, the best 32 kits were selected by an expert jury consisting of Ivana Omazić, Ivan Kelava, Alen Szabo, Dubravko Ivaniš - Ripper and Siniša Bogdanović, and then you stepped onto the scene.

We asked our jury five questions about the winning fourth kit, and below we bring you their answers:

To start with – your comment on the winning kit, are you satisfied?

Bogdanović: Since we participated in the selection from 858 submitted creative solutions and helped supporters have an "easier" choice from the Top 32, I believe the winning solution, even by my subjective choice, is the right combination for Dinamo. I am extremely satisfied.

Szabo: Both yes and no. The kit isn't bad, but I can admit that I personally expected more – especially since we're talking about a fourth kit that should leave a stronger authorial and conceptual impression.

When we started this project, we asked you what you would look for in a kit when selecting the best 32. Do you find that in the winning design?

Bogdanović: At the beginning, I also advocated that the final solution should be a combination of something traditional, but also modern, considering current trends and technical possibilities for kit production. Luka Lončarek's "History" kit is exactly that, and it's also presented in an aesthetically very good way.

Szabo: More than yes. The kit is correct and visually neat, but from a fourth kit I expect a certain departure from standard solutions, primarily in colour and approach. The first two kits carry identity and tradition, while the third and fourth leave room for creative breakthrough.

How important is it for a member-owned, democratic club like Dinamo to conduct projects like the design and selection of the fourth kit?

Bogdanović: Realistically, every time members and supporters have the opportunity to participate in such projects, I'm sure it has added value in connecting with Dinamo. Analogously, this is also the vision for the future of the club we all love.

Szabo: Dinamo is a democratic club, a club of its members, and whatever the choice was – it was selected by the majority. That's the essence of democracy. Of course, this doesn't mean the choice has to please everyone, but that's exactly where the value of such a process lies – involving the community in decision-making.

Are you happy that you had the opportunity to participate in something like this?

Bogdanović: Absolutely, I'll repeat once more that as both a supporter and an expert, this was a huge honour and pride for me to participate as chairman of the jury for selecting the fourth kit.

Szabo: Of course. This is still a precedent in club history and an interesting experience. Participating in a process that includes members and supporters gives additional weight to the project and makes it more relevant than a classic internal selection.

One message to Dinamo supporters to finish!

Bogdanović: My emotional side wanted the winning kit to be a solution that BBB would one day wear with pride. I sincerely believe this solution is closest to that ideal. To present the greatest king Tomislav on Dinamo's kit, it's hard to go higher than that.

Szabo: Less is often more. It's important to understand the difference between the first, second, third, and especially fourth kit. Blue colour is the foundation of club identity and nobody touches that, but the fourth kit provides space for exploration and bolder ideas. Not every attempt has to be perfect, but it's important to have the ambition to try something new.
