Coach Kovačević: The most beautiful thing is singing with the fans at the end, I hope it will be the same in the final round
After the match
We must say that we didn't start well, but it's important that we finished well, highlighted Dinamo's coach Mario Kovačević immediately after the victory against Slaven Belupo in Koprivnica where his team overturned the hosts' early lead and eventually won convincingly 4-1.
– We knew it wouldn't be entirely straightforward because we fielded a team that was playing together for the first time. We weren't good in the first half, at times we controlled the game, but we must praise Slaven Belupo who were quite energetic in those first 45 minutes and deservedly led. But you saw in the second half, after a more serious talk in the dressing room it was better. We scored goals. I'm also satisfied with the young players, they showed that we can count on them. Although we've already secured first place, we must be serious until the end.
That better approach in the second half resulted in as many as four goals in the opposition's net. This victory is also a nice prelude to the final round where Dinamo will host Lokomotiva at the double crown celebration.
– That's right, it's important that we'll enter that final match having gone the entire spring undefeated, I believe the stadium will be full, that it will be a celebration... We deserve it, both us and the fans, to play well in that final match of the season and celebrate together.
This victory was also a birthday present, as coach Kovačević turned 51 this Sunday.
– First of all, thanks to the players, I really wanted them to give me a victory as a birthday gift. And they succeeded. It's not easy to go away to Koprivnica, the hosts are always good. But the most beautiful thing is when at the end you celebrate victory and sing with the fans. I hope it will be the same in the final match of the season – added coach Kovačević.
