Following a convincing victory, impressive performance and even seven goals scored in the league clash against Osijek, the Maksimir footballers will switch to another track this week and continue their hunt for the Cup winner's trophy. On Wednesday at 6 PM they will visit Gorica in the SuperSport Croatian Cup semi-final, with the winner naturally securing a place in the final.

– It's clear we want to continue with good performances like the one against Osijek. We have an important match ahead of us, this is a semi-final, it's just one match scheduled, no return leg, so there's no room for error. We're working well in training, we have no reason to be worried although Gorica has been very good and quality this spring. After all, we know how Rijeka fared there two weeks ago. We're aware of the quality Gorica possesses, but we believe in ourselves. We've been showing good football lately and we want to continue that way – highlighted Dinamo coach Mario Kovačević.

What's the squad situation?

– The situation is the same as before the Osijek match, which means that Dominik Livaković, Matteo Perez Vinlöf and Cardoso Varela won't be available due to injuries. Everyone else is ready. We won't change the lineup much, we know the importance of this match, from the first minute we go for qualification.

Gorica managed to beat Dinamo at the start of the season. The Blues have since returned the favor twice, but the warning remains...

– I'm saying, I really respect Gorica, they play very well, they have quality, experienced players and we must be careful about that. But we're also getting better from match to match, we want to continue that way with the support of our fans, who I believe will be there in large numbers again. It will depend on us the most. We'll prepare well and from the first minute go for qualification to the final.

What kind of Gorica do you expect – defensive or perhaps something more offensive?

– I respect colleague Mario Carević, I know he'll want to prepare some surprise for us. But we try to recognize situations in time. This is a historic opportunity for Gorica to reach the final, they'll give their all. But reaching the final is also our great desire, I can see it in the players. If we're not at our 100 percent, there could be difficulties, but I believe we'll be at our best – concluded coach Kovačević.
