This was pure football joy, I was delighted to see so much love for Dinamo in Slavonia, emphasized Maksimir coach Mario Kovačević after the Blues defeated Bedem in Ivankov 4-0 in the SuperSport Croatian Cup Round of 16 match.
– Regarding the match itself, perhaps there's no need to talk too much about it because there's a big difference between Bedem and us. But we played seriously, scored goals early on. The wind spoiled the experience a bit, but in the end it was an interesting match, very good for us because those who have played less so far got to play. The new signings also got to play, that was important for us, we gave a chance to the younger players as well... I'm satisfied. Once again I thank the hosts for their hospitality, I congratulate them on a good match and wish them luck for the rest of the season.
How satisfied are you with the contribution of the new players?
– We planned to give them a chance in this match so they could gel with us as soon as possible. They need match time. Luka Ivanušec, Iker Almena, Noah Nsoki... Their quality isn't in question, they just need to reach their 100 percent as soon as possible and they'll be reinforcements for us. I saw a lot of good things, there were young players, I liked Fuzy Taylor, for example.
On Saturday comes another trip to Slavonia, this time an away league match in Osijek.
– We're all generally healthy, and that's important. We'll prepare well, we know that Osijek is a serious team regardless of the fact that they lost in Rijeka and now in the Cup against Segesta. They have good players, but we are Dinamo and we'll do everything to win at Opus Arena – concluded coach Kovačević.
