Nine matches with five wins, four defeats and, therefore, not a single draw... That is the rhythm with which the Dinamo II squad has entered its first league season after four years of “hibernation”, and this statistical “rollercoaster” clearly confirms the words emphasised by coach Jerko Leko: this is a phase of getting young players accustomed to senior football, a learning process in which fluctuations in form will be visible. After two consecutive wins, the Blues suffered a defeat in the last round, when Karlovac beat them 1-0 in Zaprešić. This Friday, in the 10th round of SuperSport Prva NL, Dinamo II will welcome Cibalia from Vinkovci at 3 pm on that same Zaprešić pitch.

– After the last match against Karlovac, I think the boys saw the things we need to improve. We are constantly working on the details that should make us better, both individually and as a team. I think we will be ready. Cibalia are aiming for the top of the table, they are an experienced side, with Gabrijel Boban and Petar Mišić, who have played at a higher level. It will certainly be difficult, but they are an opponent who lets you play. If we are at our best and stick to the principles we have set out, we will be able to take three points – said coach Leko.

In the meantime, on Tuesday Dinamo II played a friendly match in Vrbovečka Dubrava, where they defeated hosts Dubrava 6-2.

– That match served as a good training session for us, and some players got their shooting boots on. The hosts welcomed us warmly, and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
