Carrying the energy from England over to Varaždin on Sunday. That is the basic "formula" for the Maksimir side ahead of their next test. Just three days after leading Dinamo to an away win over Sunderland in the Europa League in his first match on the bench of the Blues' first team, coach Jerko Leko is preparing for a new challenge. Dinamo will travel to Varaždin on Sunday at 6 pm for a Round 13 clash in the SuperSport HNL.

– After the win in England, and especially after the performance we showed, our confidence has returned. We are ready for what awaits us. We will have one more training session in two or three groups, depending on the players' fatigue and workload. With a little rest and an agreement on what lies ahead, we will be ready – said coach Leko.

The Maksimir tactician had very little time to prepare for the match in Sunderland, and the turnaround before the next game is even shorter.

– The match in Varaždin is very important to us. We are Dinamo, and it is only natural that we go out to win. We will arrive in Varaždin with that same mindset. I expect the same energy. We know Varaždin are a good side, especially at home. I know coach Nikola Šafarić well, we are of the same generation, and I congratulate him on the good work he is doing. But I hope that on Sunday much will depend on us. I believe we will get it right. We have to take to the pitch with the same desire, determination and energy as in England, and in that case both good play and the desired result will follow.

Sergi Dominguez came off at half-time in Sunderland due to injury, some players felt cramps, and Luka Stojković and Dion Drena Beljo were substituted to manage their workload... What squad will Dinamo field in Varaždin?

– The situation with Dominguez is not entirely clear; we will know his exact condition on Sunday morning. Scott McKenna is still injured. We have a plan, and even before Sunderland we had an idea of how we would line up in Varaždin. Whoever plays, I believe that in terms of energy and positivity we will be at the same level as in England, which means we are going for three points – concluded coach Leko.
