The absence of almost half of the regular players left its mark on the young Maksimir side, and in such circumstances the points went to a solid and experienced visiting team. In Round 12 of the SuperSport Prva NL, Jadran Luka Ploče beat Dinamo b 1-0 in Zaprešić. After 12 matches played, the Blues remain the only team in the league without a single draw... This was the first time the Maksimir b side was led by coach Renato Pilipović, after head coach Jerko Leko took charge of the Blues' first team.

Dinamo were without captain Noa Mikić, who had to sit out through suspension and has also been promoted to the first team, as well as Sven Šunta, who is likewise currently with the first team. Injured Fuzy Taylor did not play either, nor did Jona Benkotić and Nikola Radnić, who had featured for the junior side two days earlier in a UEFA Youth League match.

The visitors started the match sharply and capitalized on that approach with the opening goal. Captain Nikola Marić raced down the right wing as early as the 4th minute and rattled the crossbar with a powerful shot. Three minutes later the visitors took the lead. Antonio Perić stepped into Dinamo's penalty area and was brought down by Maksimir left-back Ivan Paunović, and the referee pointed to the spot. Nikola Marić took the penalty, and Dinamo goalkeeper Tai Žnuderl managed to save it. However, Marić followed up on the rebound and slammed the ball into the net.

The second half was a tough, disjointed match without many chances. In the 54th minute, Egor Molchan got down the right side and sent in a cutback, captain Tomas Baković played it low into the middle, but Leonardo Perković, shooting first-time from the edge of the six-yard box, did not make clean contact and the goalkeeper was able to smother the ball. A little later Gabrijel Šivalec tried his luck from about ten metres on the left side, but the visiting goalkeeper was equal to it.
