In their second friendly match ahead of the First NL season, Dinamo B players drew against Vukovar 1991, playing 2:2. The Blues led 2:0, but the visitors secured a draw in the final moments with two goals, scoring the equalizer in the last action in the second minute of stoppage time following a corner kick.

This was also a match between opponents who will face each other in championship matches in the First NL. On the opposing benches were former Dinamo teammates: Jerko Leko as the strategist of the young Maksimir squad and Kristijan Polovanec in the role of coach for the Vukovar team.

Both gave opportunities to numerous players, with 22 appearing for Dinamo B and one more for the Vukovar team.

Coach Leko changed most of the lineup at halftime, with Tomas Baković, for example, coming off after 45 minutes and then returning instead of Krešimir Radoš in the middle of the second half. Lovre Kulušić is still in the recovery phase from injury, so due to workload management, he played about thirty minutes of the second half and scored a goal... Sven Šunta was absent due to first team duties, as were the injured Nikolas Šimić and Leonardo Perković.

Dinamo threatened in the 8th minute down the right flank, with Patrik Horvat and Baković combining before Mislav Ćutuk shot sharply, but the goalkeeper saved the ball. Late in the first half, Vukovar had a chance when Leonard Brodersen delivered a cross and Sejoba Barnes at the far post sent the ball high over the goal. The visiting goalkeeper shortly after had to make a save to push the ball into a corner after Maksimir captain Marko Zebić fired powerfully from 25 meters on the right side.

In the second half, Blues goalkeeper Petar Lončarević stood out with two consecutive brilliant saves in the same action, first from Ante Kramarić and then from Daniel Vinković.

The Blues took the lead in the 71st minute when Nikola Radnić sent a long ball from his own half, the home defender tried to head it back to the goalkeeper, but Kulušić intercepted, rounded the keeper and scored for the lead. Four minutes later it was 2:0. Karlo Zulfić delivered a free kick from the right side, and Radnić headed it into the net.

The visitors managed to equalize in the final moments. In the 87th minute, an attack came down the right side, with Santiago Garcia and Samuel Semedo combining, the latter sending the ball into the center where it deflected off someone in the box, and on the left side Dino Jergović collected it and scored into the far corner. Another goal came in the 2nd minute of stoppage time when Semedo delivered a corner kick and Garcia headed it into the goal for the equalizer.
