It was an interesting contest, with spells in which both teams put in an engaging performance and created several attractive moves. In the end, however, the points went to the visitors. In Round 9 of SuperSport Prva NL in Zaprešić, Karlovac beat Dinamo b 1-0, overtaking the Blues, who had come into this match on the back of two consecutive wins.

In Dinamo b's starting lineup, Uruguayan midfielder Lautaro Ultra played for the first time, taking over the holding midfield role, while Fuzy Taylor moved into a somewhat more offensive “number eight” role.

Centre-back Nikola Radnić and midfielder Jona Benkotić were absent from the Blues' squad this time, as they will be involved with the junior team this week.

Dinamo b threatened in the 17th minute, when Noah Nsoki whipped in a sharp cross from the left and Leonardo Perković, leaping, was just a fraction short.

The visitors took the lead in the 33rd minute. Luka Kapulica produced a spectacular move, a pirouette between two defenders, to race into the danger zone, then sent in a low cross from the left, and Marko Žuljević darted in at the edge of the six-yard box, stuck out a foot and turned the ball into the goal.

At the other end five minutes later, Sven Šunta cleverly slipped the ball into space in the middle, and Perković raced in from the left, but fired it wide of the goal.

At the start of the second half, Taylor set an attack in motion, played a short pass to Josip Brundić, who sent it on into the penalty area for Perković, but the visiting defenders cleared the ball at the last moment.

In the 51st minute, Taylor again initiated an attack and played in Brundić, who sent the ball out to the right. Egor Molchan picked it up, got past the defenders with deft dribbling, moved toward the centre and, in a flash, shot at the near bottom corner. The visitors managed to graze the ball, which then flew just past the post for a corner.

The Blues put together another fine move in the 60th minute: Molchan played a give-and-go with Brundić, who returned the ball, and Perković backheeled a parallel pass toward Šunta, but the visitors managed to disrupt Dinamo's attack at the last moment.
