Dinamo – Hajduk 3-0
Dinamo overshadowed Hajduk with convincing, inspired and open play to claim a comprehensive 3-0 victory. The derby was played in front of 40,000 spectators, and it seemed that the Split side would be more aggressive and dangerous, but they only showed signs of such an approach in the first ten minutes.
The Blues took the lead after half an hour of play when Rudolf Belin produced a moment of magic on the right flank, making a sharp run into the penalty area, shaking off his markers with two dribbles, then playing a return pass which Slaven Zambata ran onto to slam home for the opener.
Adem Atko Kasumović in the 40th minute played a short free kick in midfield to Željko Perušić, who drove forward as the Split defenders opened up space for him... Perušić took advantage and powerfully rattled the net from the edge of the penalty area.
Zambata sealed the victory with another goal in the 56th minute. Zdenko Kobešćak took a shot, the goalkeeper got a touch on the ball which changed its direction and rolled to Zambata who calmly slotted it into the goal.
After seven rounds, Dinamo were second with 10 points, one behind leaders Crvena zvezda. Hajduk at that point were at the very bottom with four points.
