Sutjeska – Dinamo 0-0 (2-4 on penalties) (cup final qualification)
Dinamo secured their place in the Cup final through a superior penalty shootout performance away against second division side Sutjeska. The Blues in Nikšić, after a 0-0 draw in 120 minutes of play at the stadium by Bistrica, still advanced to the final where they defeated Hajduk 4-1 and won the cup. A small ceremonial prelude to the match in Nikšić was a parachutist's jump who descended with the ball and placed it at the center of the pitch. In those 120 minutes of play, the hosts were more engaged, and Maksimir goalkeeper Zlatko Škorić played a crucial role with brilliant saves. Moreover, Škorić was later also a penalty taker during the shootout and accurately found the target.
In that era, opponents did not take penalties alternately during shootouts, but the order meant that first one team would take all five shots, and only then would five players from the opposing team take their turn. Dinamo players went first. The opening trio were successful: Rudolf Belin, Zlatko Škorić and Željko Matuš. Then Nikšić goalkeeper Fadil Dugalić saved Stjepan Lamza's shot, after which Mirko Charlie Braun scored for Dinamo's four out of five. For the hosts, first penalty taker Novak Bulatović missed, then Vojin Lazarević and Branko Čalović scored, and when Nikola Bukilica sent the ball wide of the frame it was clear that Dinamo were the winners, so the fifth penalty taker didn't even shoot.
