With effective and furious play, Dinamo convincingly defeated Hajduk 3-0 in the first leg of the Croatian Cup final. This was the penultimate appearance of captain Luka Modrić in Dinamo's shirt in front of the home crowd. The Blues took the lead through Josip Tadić's goal in the 7th minute, after which Mario Mandžukić added two more in the 20th and 88th minutes for the final 3-0. Dinamo completely outplayed their guests, earning applause with delightful moves and skills. This was, alongside the autumn victory against Ajax in Amsterdam 3-2, certainly the best performance by the Blues in the entire season. The return leg in Split ended 0-0, securing the double crown for the Blues.
