Dinamo – Osijek 3-1 (Cup won)
Four minutes remained until the end of the match, Osijek had just had a chance to score from the penalty spot at Maksimir, and with that goal they would have been within reach of the trophy. Dinamo and Osijek faced each other in the Cup final, the first leg at Gradski vrt ended goalless, and in the 86th minute of the return leg at Maksimir, Osijek players had a penalty kick while the Blues led 2-1. With a potential goal for 2-2, Osijek would have been within reach of the cup due to the away goals rule. However, Ivan Kelava saved the penalty taken by Josip Lukačević, and the Blues scored for 3-1 in the referee's added time.
The second 45 minutes were a football delicacy. First, Mateo Kovačić initiated an attack in the 51st minute, performed a pirouette during which the Osijek defence "vanished without a trace" and skillfully hit the bottom corner. When Fatos Beqiraj scored with a header from seven metres for 2-0 in the 63rd minute, it seemed the story was over. Sammir played a brilliant long ball, Jerko Leko received it, turned in front of goal, and Beqiraj found himself alone in front of the penalty area and made it 2-0.
Osijek reduced the deficit in the 69th minute, Zoran Kvržić delivered a cross in front of Dinamo's goal, and Šime Vrsaljko awkwardly sent the ball into his own net from five metres. They had a chance to equalise in the 86th minute. Tonel fouled Osijek's striker Anton Maglica in front of his own goal, the referee pointed to the penalty spot... Kelava saved Lukačević's penalty kick, Maglica ran onto the rebound and sent another shot towards goal. And again Kelava saved the ball. In the referee's added time, amid Osijek's attacks, Josip Pivarić sent a brilliant ball into space, and Luis Ibañez from the left side hit the opposite bottom corner for 3-1.
