Zagreb – Dinamo 0-4 (Eduardo sets HNL record)

He found the net twice and became a record holder. Maksimir's 'carioca' Eduardo da Silva in the penultimate league round surpassed the previous record holder Goran Vlaović in terms of goals scored in a single HNL season. Vlaović scored 29 goals in 1993/94, also wearing the Maksimir club's jersey, which remained the league record until Eduardo's masterful season. In the city derby at Kranjčevićeva, the Blues led 2-0 with goals from Josip Tadić and Dino Drpić before Eduardo added two more for the final 4-0 scoreline. Popular Dudu had already equalled Vlaović's tally before the match against Zagreb, so his first goal in that game, making it 3-0, meant he became the sole record holder. As he was also the hero of the derby against Hajduk in the following match in the final league round, scoring a hat-trick in a 3-0 victory, Eduardo finished the season with 34 goals scored, averaging more than one goal per match. Those 34 goals came in 32 appearances. If we add matches in the Croatian Cup, Super Cup and European competitions that season, Eduardo scored exactly that many - 47 goals in 47 official appearances.
