Juventus – Dinamo 4-1 (Mitropa Cup)
They started with a defeat, but later became group winners. Dinamo's footballers opened the 1962 Mitropa Cup competition with a loss. Juventus won 4-1 in Turin, before the Zagreb side later celebrated a 2-1 victory in Zagreb. The Blues eventually finished as group winners with eight points, the same as Spartak Hradec Kralove from Czechoslovakia. Juventus finished third with seven points, while Ferencvaros came last with just one point. The Zagreb side were later stopped by Bologna in the semi-finals. Clubs also had the opportunity to sign one-time reinforcements, meaning players who would play as guests. So in Turin, the then-stars Ivica Osim from Sarajevo's Željezničar and Pave Garov and Zagreb native Zlatko Papec from Hajduk played for Dinamo. Garov even scored Dinamo's goal in Turin for a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute. The result was turned around by Bruno Nicole's goal in the 20th minute, double goalscorer Argentinian Humberto Jorge Rosa in the 55th and 85th minutes, and Gino Stacchini in the 67th. Two minutes before the end, home player Ernesto Castano and Dinamo's Tomislav Knez were both sent off.
