Dinamo – Partizan 7-2 (Cup semi-final)

Seven goals in Partizan's net, a victory with a five-goal margin and progression to the second of their four consecutive Cup finals... With powerful attacking play under coach Milan Antolković, Dinamo's players outplayed Partizan 7-2 in the Yugoslav Cup semi-final, and this in a match where the Belgrade side had led 2-1.

In the 12th minute, Slaven Zambata pounced on a loose ball and scored to give the blues the lead, but just three minutes later the equalising goal arrived: Maksimir goalkeeper Zlatko Škorić failed to clear a high ball, Branislav Mihajlović rushed in and placed it into the net. To general surprise, Partizan took the lead in the 29th minute. Nikola Benco brought down Mihajlović, and Vladica Kovačević scored from the penalty spot. In the final seconds of the first half, Rudolf Belin equalised with a powerful and spectacular strike.

Then came the blue rhapsody: three goals in just 12 minutes! The net was rattled in succession by Zdravko Rauš in the 49th minute, Zambata with a turn and shot in the 53rd, and Stjepan Lamza in the 61st. After Partizan had a goal disallowed for offside, Mihajlović aggressively confronted the referee and earned a red card for his colourful language and aggressive behaviour. This was in the 69th minute with Dinamo leading 5-2. Soon after, the blues continued their total offensive, which was rounded off by Zambata with the most beautiful move and a "lob" for 6-2 in the 75th minute, and Rauš with a header for 7-2 in the 77th minute. Later, in the final, Red Star defeated the blues 3-0. However, Dinamo "redeemed" themselves by winning the cup a year later.
