Dinamo – Olimpija 3-1

It was a season that was crowned with winning the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, and Dinamo were also in the fight for the championship title during those days. That Sunday, in the 25th match out of a total of 30 rounds, only 8,000 spectators came to Maksimir Stadium. That's what the media recorded, who at that time in their reports often knew how to significantly inflate the total attendance figures... And Dinamo were in the midst of a title fight, with realistic prospects of actually lifting the trophy.

The visitors to Maksimir Stadium that Sunday were Olimpija from Ljubljana. The Blues celebrated with a 3-1 victory, which meant that five rounds before the end they were in third place, two points behind Sarajevo and with the same points tally as Partizan, who had a slightly better goal difference. In this round, Sarajevo defeated Red Star in Belgrade 3-1, while Partizan played 2-2 away against Sutjeska in Nikšić.

Slaven Zambata headed the ball in the 21st minute and hit the crossbar, and later initiated the opening goal in a similar fashion. In the 49th minute, he again directed the ball with his head, goalkeeper Borut Škulj saved it, Josip Gutzmirtl rushed in and scored for 1-0. Stjepan Lamza led an attack in the 58th minute and from 20 meters precisely hit the corner of the net. Two minutes later, Rudolf Cvek crossed from the right, and Zambata headed in Dinamo's third goal. Olimpija reduced the deficit in the 65th minute after Branko Oblak started the move, and Vladan Mladenović placed the ball into the net.
