Dinamo – Hajduk 3-1 (path to the title)

Dinamo continued their successful path towards the championship title with a convincing performance against Hajduk at Maksimir Stadium. The Blues celebrated a 3-1 victory in front of 35,000 spectators in a match where the Split side led at halftime, but Dinamo turned the result around in the second half with three goals for a convincing victory. The match began with a small ceremony in honor of the celebrated player of the Zagreb club, Zvonimir Cimermanšić, who formally said farewell to his playing career. The visitors took the lead in the 18th minute when Božo Broketa played through Joško Vidošević from a free kick, who found Bernard Vukas as he ran into the penalty area to shake the net. What followed was Dinamo's relentless hunt for an equalizer, as the Blues pressed intensively in the final 15 minutes of the first half, occupying Hajduk's penalty area... The white defense cracked at the start of the second half, in the 47th minute, when Stojan Osojnak cleverly scored from an angle after an assist from Dionizije Bato Dvornić. In the 60th minute, Luka Lipošinović raced down the wing and played through Željko Čajkovski, who made a skillful run past goalkeeper Vladimir Beara and scored without difficulty for the lead and comeback. Beara, incidentally, stood out in this match with spectacular saves, particularly after Čajkovski's shot – with a brilliant save he pushed the ball away from the goal mouth. Just three minutes after Dinamo's second goal came the third. Osojnak scored again following a pass from the inspired and omnipresent Čajkovski. After 20 rounds played, Dinamo remained at the top of the table with the same number of points as second-placed Red Star.
