Three days after the Blues won the Cup at Poljud with a better penalty shootout performance, they once again took to the field against the same opponent on the same pitch. This time Hajduk and Dinamo met in the final round of the championship and played out a 2-2 draw in a match that concluded their competitive season and in which the Maksimir team celebrated their fourth consecutive and 11th overall HNL title.

They had already secured the championship trophy two rounds earlier, so the Split derby was of an exhibition nature. Mathias Chago dribbled past two defenders in the eighth minute, and after his shot the ball deflected off a block and deceived the goalkeeper to give the Blues the lead. Six minutes later Mario Mandžukić launched the ball into the goal with a long-range strike. It was his 16th goal of the season, making him the league's top scorer. In the 67th minute Senijad Ibričić cleverly collected the ball and found the net with a precise shot to reduce the Blues' lead, before Ante Vukušić escaped the defence nine minutes from time following a long ball from Josip Skoko and scored the equalising goal.
