Dinamo concluded their triumphant season with the match in Sarajevo, lifting the national championship trophy. In the season finale, the Blues defeated Sarajevo 5-1 away from home, with an inspired and brilliant Zvonimir Cimermanđić scoring four goals. Željko Čajkovski added one more, while Ivan Švaljek was the scorer for the home side.
The Blues had already secured the title two rounds earlier, and finished the season with a five-point advantage over runners-up Hajduk and third-placed Partizan, and 10 points ahead of Zagreb's Lokomotiva in fourth place. The team was coached by Miroslav Mirko Kokotović in the autumn part of the competition, and by Austrian Karl Mütsch in the spring. Dinamo's striker Franjo Mara Wölfl defended his title as the league's top scorer with 22 goals.
