Dinamo – Sportul Bucharest 3-1 (Balkan Cup final, first leg)
A spectacular overhead kick by Snješko Cerin just under the crossbar to thunderous applause from the Maksimir stands. In such an atmosphere, Dinamo's footballers took a big step towards winning the Balkan Cup. In the first final match, under coach Mirko Bazić, they defeated Sportul from Bucharest 3-1.
Zlatko Cico Kranjčar opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a header following an assist from Mladen Župetić. Cerin doubled the lead in the 22nd minute after a run down the right flank when he surprised the advancing goalkeeper with a clever strike. And then came the acrobatics to thunderous applause: Cerin scored Dinamo's third goal in the 52nd minute by receiving Mario Bonić's ball and launching it just under the crossbar with a powerful overhead kick. Paul Cazan pulled one back six minutes before the end. Sportul later won the return leg 3-2, which meant the cup went to the Zagreb team.
This was also Dinamo's only participation in the Balkan Cup.
