Primorje Ljubljana – Građanski 1-3 (league qualifiers)

Three "torpedoes against the coastal team" were enough to secure a place in the finals. Građanski defeated Primorje from Ljubljana 3-1 away in the first qualifying match, practically securing their advancement to the final stage of the competition.

The system at that time required clubs to first compete at local level and then earn their place in the championship finals of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia through a qualifying round. Građanski, as runners-up of the Zagreb Football Sub-Association behind HAŠK, earned their place in the qualifiers where they faced Primorje. Moreover, the Zagreb club entered the season as defending champions of Yugoslavia, and with such pedigree they confidently progressed through Ljubljana.

Slavin Cindrić found the net after a successful attack, while in the second half Zvonimir Stanković took advantage of the goalkeeper's careless rush out to score the blues' second goal. Cindrić soon after skillfully finished off a counter-attack for a convincing 3-0 lead. Somewhat later, Herman Slamič reduced the deficit with a free kick. The Zagreb team were later convincing in the return leg in Zagreb as well, winning 4-0 and securing their place in the championship finals.
