Dinamo – Lazio 1-0
Right somewhere between victories against Juventus in Turin and against Milan and Inter, Lazio footballers stopped by for a friendly match in Zagreb. This was the era before the formation of European club competitions, so even such encounters carried great weight. The Blues celebrated in Zagreb in front of 25,000 spectators with a 1-0 victory, with Franjo Mara Wölfl scoring in the 47th minute with a powerful strike from 18 metres. For Zagreb, on this occasion, Ervin Katnić from Hajduk also appeared as a guest player. Dinamo outplayed their opponents, and their dominance is illustrated by the statistical detail that the Blues fired as many as 17 shots towards goal in the first half alone, while the visitors managed just three. Lazio's team on the pitch was led by right-winger Aldo Puccinelli, and their clearest chance fell to Dionisio Arce whose shot was stopped by Maksimir goalkeeper Slavko Arneri. The Blues entered this match after recording three victories and one draw in the opening four league rounds. This was the first of three consecutive seasons that stretched throughout the calendar year. Lazio, meanwhile, shortly before their visit to Zagreb, had beaten Juventus in Turin 2-1 and Milan in Rome 3-2, and 11 days later defeated Inter at home 3-2. The championship was ultimately won by Juventus, with Milan finishing as runners-up, Inter taking third place, and Lazio fourth.
