Građanski – Milan 2-1
Within two and a half weeks, they defeated both Milan giants: Inter in Milan and Milan in Zagreb. The victory in Milan had a strong impact. Two and a half weeks after the Zagreb side defeated Inter away in a spectacular 4-3 match, a new encounter with the Milanese was arranged. But not with Inter, rather with their city rivals Milan. And not in Milan, but in Zagreb.
And once again, the Zagreb team proved superior. Građanski defeated Milan 2-1. After a move involving Vilmos Vilim Sipos, Franjo Mara Wölfl and Milan Antolković, August Lešnik ran onto the ball and hammered it into the net to give Zagreb the lead. Just a few minutes earlier, Lešnik had sent the ball high over the goal from the edge of the penalty area. The newspaper description of Zagreb's second goal was particularly colorful: "When Sipos got bored of having nothing to do on the wing, he burst into the center, received the ball, rolled up three or four Italians like spaghetti and fired a powerful shot right into the left corner. The Italian goalkeeper made a smart dive and returned the shot into play, but Mariškina's (Franjo Wölfl, author's note) head skillfully reached the ball and placed it unstoppably into the corner."
Građanski led 2-0 at halftime, the Italians later hit the post in the second half, and in the 77th minute Aldo Boffi reduced the deficit to the final score of 2-1.
