A victory against Hajduk for maximum league performance. This was one of only three seasons that extended throughout the calendar year, making this April derby just the 4th league round. Dinamo recorded their fourth consecutive victory in that match. The match started at 4 PM, but already around noon, four hours earlier, endless columns of fans were making their way to the stadium. The match was watched by a then-record 35,000 spectators at Maksimir Stadium. In a relatively quiet first half, Franjo Mara Wölfl hit the crossbar, Božidar Senčar rushed to the rebound, but Vladimir Beara made a brilliant save. The Blues took the lead in the 53rd minute when Željko Čajkovski set up Wölfl, who sent the ball into the net. Eight minutes later, Branko Režek outplayed the defence, crossed into the penalty area, and in the scramble the ball rebounded to Senčar who increased the lead. The story was concluded in the 75th minute by Senčar with his second goal - he broke through to face Beara who initially saved his shot, but he managed to send the rebound into the goal.
