Rijeka – Dinamo 2-1 (Supercup)

Rijeka welcomed Dinamo to Kantrida for the season opener and claimed their first Supercup winner's trophy. It was a clash between Rijeka as the then Cup holders and Dinamo, who had concluded the previous season with their ninth consecutive championship title.

The Blues also allowed Rijeka to host the Supercup, and the Kantrida team made the most of it by winning 2-1. Josip Brezovec delivered a free kick from the left side in the 11th minute, and Miral Samardžić was a fraction quicker than goalkeeper Eduardo, heading the ball into the net from the edge of the six-yard box. The Blues equalised six minutes before the end of the first half when Paulo Machado crossed from the left, and Leonardo German Sigali headed home from close range at the far post to make it 1-1. Rijeka secured victory in the 70th minute when Ivan Krstanović launched a counter-attack, crossed into the penalty area, and Moises cleverly controlled the ball on his chest before spectacularly firing home from about ten metres out.
