Gradjanski – Basel 1-0

The Purgers played two consecutive matches against Basel, first on Easter Sunday when they won 2-0, and then on Easter Monday when they celebrated with a somewhat less "impressive" 1-0 victory. Gradjanski hosted the Swiss footballers in two consecutive matches and scored a total of three goals. However, the visitors came closer to taking the lead in this second match, when Emil Breh hit the post in the 28th minute. Just three minutes later, the Purgers' winning goal materialized. Stjepan Pasinek unleashed a powerful shot from 25 meters and found the net. Interestingly, both Gradjanski and Basel played in different kits compared to the previous day. The Swiss appeared in their main red-blue combination on Easter, while the Purgers played in their basic blue jersey on Monday. Since almost all clubs of that decade had white reserve kits, except of course those for whom that was the primary color, both Gradjanski on the first day and Basel a day later played in precisely such a backup combination.
