Istra 1961 – Dinamo 0-4 (path to the title)
It was the day when the Blues, seven rounds before the end, hoped they might mathematically secure the championship title. They defeated Istra 1961 in Pula with a convincing 4-0, and for theoretical confirmation of the title they needed Inter Zaprešić to take at least a point in their away match in Rijeka later that same day. However, Rijeka thundered past them 7-0, so Dinamo's title was secured six days later with a victory in Koprivnica. We will remember the match in Pula for two magnificent goals by Mislav Oršić and Dani Olmo. First, Oršić in the 20th minute, as a "warm-up", led an attack down the left flank, entered the penalty area, played a short low pass back to the penalty spot where Arijan Ademi scored for the lead. A minute before the end of the first half came a masterpiece worthy of thunderous applause. Ademi won the ball with a sliding tackle from the opponent's feet towards Olmo, who immediately passed it to Oršić with his first touch. From his own half of the pitch, he embarked on a run towards goal. He sprinted down the left side, covered half the pitch, flew into the penalty area, and when it seemed he had gone too wide, he deceived the goalkeeper with a body feint. In the next movement, he cleverly sent the ball with his left foot into the near corner while the goalkeeper expected a cross into the center and was left on the "wrong foot". And while it seemed this was undoubtedly the most beautiful move of the match, Olmo intensified the "competition" with a masterful goal for 0-3. In the 60th minute, he started with the ball from the middle of the pitch on the right side, approached 20 meters from goal and with an spectacular strike with his right foot hit the opposite top corner, the ball flew past the goalkeeper under the crossbar with a curling trajectory. The story was concluded in the 73rd minute when Petar Stojanović rushed from the right side into the penalty area, along the goal line, reached the penalty spot and played a short pass for the advancing Olmo who easily hammered it into the goal from close range.
