Dinamo – Guadalajara 3-1
Dinamo's footballers hosted Mexican side Guadalajara in their home debut of the new season. The Blues triumphed 3-1 in the friendly encounter. Although the opposition was an exotic team that played attractive and technically refined football, attendance in the stands was extremely poor as Zagreb was hit by severe weather accompanied by heavy rain on that particular day.
Coach Ivan Đalma Marković did not field his strongest lineup, as several players were absent for various reasons including Tomislav Ivković, Zlatko Cico Kranjčar, Stjepan Deverić, Branko Tucak, Abid Kovačević... In such a "reshuffled lineup", young Mladen Munjaković, Drago Dumbović, and Ismet Hadžić particularly stood out.
Dinamo took the lead in the 25th minute when Dumbović found the net, and just two minutes later Marko Mlinarić doubled the advantage from the penalty spot. Jose Luis Hernandez pulled one back in the 79th minute, but just three minutes later Munjaković scored Dinamo's third goal.
