Skënderbeu – Dinamo 1-2 (Champions League, play-off, first leg)
He picked up the ball on the left side, right at the corner of the penalty area, moved several metres towards the centre to shake off two defenders, then unleashed a thunderous shot from 17 metres that rocketed into the top corner. And with his weaker right foot no less... In the 3rd minute of stoppage time! Josip Pivarić produced a spectacular moment to give Dinamo victory away against Albanian side Skënderbeu. The Zagreb side won 2-1, and having been even better in the return leg with a 4-1 victory, they secured their place in the Champions League group stage.
Skënderbeu's home is the city of Korçë, but as their stadium didn't have UEFA licence, they hosted the match in Elbasan. In any case, the Albanians took the lead with a brilliant goal from an old acquaintance from the Croatian league. Former Rijeka and Kamen Ingrad player Bledi Shkëmbi scored in the 37th minute from a free kick 17 metres out, slightly angled from the right side, curling the ball with his left foot around the wall into the opposite corner. Dinamo equalised in the 66th minute with a lightning-quick move involving three rapid, precise passes. Gonçalo played a through ball to Marko Rog, who brilliantly flicked it first-time to the right for Marko Pjaca, who sent the ball across goal where El Arabi Hilal Soudani was waiting completely unmarked in front of an empty net to divert it into the net. Shortly after, Ante Ćorić ran down the left flank, cut inside, and Domagoj Antolić deflected the ball against the far post. Dinamo therefore won 2-1 in a match that featured three masterful strikes.
