Dinamo – Milan 0-3 (Champions League, 3rd qualifying round, second leg)
Milan advanced past Dinamo in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League with two victories, which meant that the Zagreb side moved to the UEFA Cup where their opponents were Slovan from Bratislava. Dinamo had taken the lead 1-0 in the first match at San Siro through a goal by Renato Pilipović, but the hosts eventually turned it around for a final 3-1 victory. Milan also scored three goals in the return leg in Zagreb, winning 3-0.
In the 23rd minute, the inspired Andriy Shevchenko brilliantly executed a free kick from more than 20 meters, sending the ball over the wall and under the crossbar. Two minutes before the end of the first half, Shevchenko struck Dinamo's net again: he skillfully received the ball and from a turn, hit a volley for 2-0. A minute later, Maksimir midfielder Jasmin Agić was sent off after receiving his second yellow card. In the 56th minute, Francesco Coco led a counter-attack, assisting to the far post where Jose Mari received the ball and easily slotted it into the net.
