Slaven Belupo – Dinamo 0-1 (title secured)
If there were still some equations with one or more unknowns until this round, the mathematics have now become perfectly clear: Dinamo secured their 25th victory of the season that Friday in Koprivnica, theoretically securing their 20th HNL title with six rounds to spare. The team led by coach Nenad Bjelica that season defeated Slaven Belupo 1-0 with Amer Gojak's goal in the 48th minute. The Blues thus extended their lead over their closest followers Rijeka to an unreachable 23 points.
With the victory in Koprivnica, Dinamo secured not only their 20th HNL title, but also their 30th national championship trophy in the club's history.
The move for the winning goal was initiated by Nikola Moro, who cleverly played Gojak through on the edge of the penalty area, and the Maksimir midfielder then executed an attractive one-two with Bruno Petković before easily beating goalkeeper Ivan Filipović. The same goalkeeper who would join Dinamo five years later.
It was a match with several truly appealing sequences: Antonio Marin's dribbles and penetration into the penalty area from the left side, Dani Olmo's shot 'off the knee', Dino Perić's skillful through ball for Olmo, a save by Koprivnica goalkeeper Filipović who made a 'condor-like dive' to pull the ball from the very crossbar...
Shortly before the goal we also saw an 'overture' when Marin launched an effective through ball for Olmo who turned the opposing defender with a 'dummy', but the ball still ended up in a block.
Gojak, for instance, in the 24th minute, after a skillful move by Lovro Majer and Damian Kądzior, tried to surprise Filipović. The ball on its way to goal deflected off a Koprivnica defender, so Filipović had to dive into the corner at the last moment to prevent what seemed like a certain goal. Five minutes later Petković shot from 17 meters, but the ball flew just over the goal.
Petković's miniature was also interesting when he freed himself from a defender with a dribble around his entire axis, a full 360 degrees, but didn't strike the ball well. In the continuation of the move he still won the ball, then also a corner kick. Moreover, Majer curled the ball from that very corner so that Filipović, with such a delivery, had to make a save right under the crossbar.
Olmo also drew applause in the 54th minute. Perić played the Maksimir Spaniard through with an effective deep ball, he fired the ball towards goal from the first touch, but it only grazed the post from the outside.
