Dinamo celebrated at the start of the Champions League with tremendous energy, desire and a magnificent atmosphere. The Zagreb blues defeated Chelsea 1-0, with the goalscorer being old London 'acquaintance' Mislav Oršić. Considering the strength of the competition, the financial gap between these two teams, considering the power, value, ambitions and results of the opposing team, this is one of Dinamo's greatest victories. After all, Chelsea won the Champions League just a year earlier.

After Oršić's inspired moves, Tottenham's net shook, West Ham's net shook too, and now he has added another London club to that list, Chelsea...

Captain Arijan Ademi fought in exactly that way, like a captain, against strong and difficult opponents, and in the end earned the title of man of the match.

Oršić's brilliant, lightning-quick run for the lead in the 13th minute could have had its fairy-tale continuation at the start of the second half. Luka Ivanušec played a short ball to the right, Stefan Ristovski received it and powerfully fired from 20 metres towards the near post. It would have been a masterful goal if Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga hadn't made a spectacular diving save with his fingertips to deflect the ball which then hit the crossbar right at the junction with the post.

Goalkeeper Dominik Livaković also played a magnificent role. In the 86th minute, he prevented an equalizer with two miraculous reactions. First, Reece James powerfully struck from the right from about ten metres towards the near corner, but Livaković managed to deflect the ball. In the follow-up, Jorginho sent another shot from about ten metres while falling, but once again Dinamo's net guardian saved the ball.

After Chelsea's powerful start to the match when the Maksimir defenders were clearing the ball from the danger zone with various 'acrobatics', there was a flash on the other side. In the 13th minute, Bruno Petković jumped to meet a cleared ball, headed it left to Oršić who masterfully controlled it with his chest and suddenly catapulted towards goal. At full speed he raced across the entire opponent's half of the pitch, in that powerful counter-attack he ran alone in front of the goalkeeper and elegantly chipped the ball with his right foot past the keeper into the bottom corner.

However, Oršić himself emphasized before the match that the complete Maksimir team would have to play perfect defence against such an opponent. And that's exactly what happened. Visiting coach Thomas Tuchel fielded his best lineup, with Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Raheem Sterling, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and, of course, former Dinamo midfielder Mateo Kovačić...

The Zagreb team, buoyed by the leading goal, occasionally created chaos in front of the opponent's goal. In the space of less than a minute, in the 29th and 30th minutes, there were sparks in Chelsea's penalty area. Oršić from a free kick, slightly from the left, skillfully found Petković in the penalty area, he sent it back to him, and Dinamo's striker quickly grabbed it, took three steps and from about ten metres fired over the goal. In the next action, Ademi powerfully shot from 18 metres, but Kepa managed to save the ball.

In the 82nd minute, Chelsea was close to an equalizer, but Havertz's header from the edge of the six-yard box was deflected by Robert Ljubičić, also with his head...
