Former stalwart of Dinamo's defence, Ivica Miljković, popularly known as Gegi, left us forever on 23 September 2005 at the age of 59. He spent a full eight seasons at the Maksimir club and during that period played 271 official matches.

Born on 1 August 1947 in Slavonski Brod, he began his football career in his hometown playing for the then BSK, today's Marsonia. He joined Dinamo in the summer of 1969 and stayed for a full eight years. With the Blues in his final season he was runner-up, and throughout that entire period he was twice a Cup finalist.

Ivica Miljković and Filip Blaškovic, both from Slavonski Brod, formed a solid wall in the centre of Dinamo's defence and were an inseparable tandem for years. Miljković was also known for his powerful and precise shot. He scored 28 goals for the Blues, with a particularly spectacular goal against Slovan Bratislava standing out. This was in the first round of the Cup Winners' Cup when Slovan were the defending champions, having shortly before that defeated Barcelona in the final of the previous season's competition. Miljković shook the net as early as the 2nd minute with a long-range volley into the top corner. The Blues celebrated with a 3-0 victory. He received excellent ratings, for example, for his performance against Real Madrid in 1974 when Dinamo won 4-3. Miljković was marked by experts, media and even opponents as one of the best players in that match.

After Dinamo he played for Osijek and Chicago Sting. He also earned one cap for the Yugoslav national team.

His elder son Dinko was also a Dinamo player, while his younger son Damir was a professional basketball player who came through KK Zagreb and briefly played for Cibona.
